A former nursing assistant has been sentenced to prison for charges of physically abusing patientsĀ at an Oklahoma nursing home in Bartesville, about one hour north of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jason Lynn Pearl, 31, was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to two cases of nursing home abuse at Silver Lake Care Center, which prosecutors say Pearl recorded on his cell phone and showed to others before erasing the incidents. Pearl must also pay $1,150 in fines and must undergo psychiatric, alcohol and drug abuse evaluations.
The sentence was issued this week by Washington County District Judge Curtis DeLapp, who also banned Pearl from ever providing care to children or the elderly again.
