Men Plead Guilty After Taking Advantage of Mississippi Veterans Nursing Home Residents

Two Jackson men have plead guilty to charges that they illegally took advantage of residents at a Mississippi nursing home.

Gregory McCarty and Jeremy Sykes were sentenced in late November in Hinds County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy, and forfeiting after taking advantage of residents at the State Veterans Home, where Sykes was an employee. McCarty was sentenced to nine years in prison, and Sykes received a five-year suspended sentence.
