North Carolina Nursing Home Residents Hospitalized After Fire

Nearly a dozen North Carolina nursing home residents were briefly hospitalized after a fire damaged part of the Raeford Manor nursing home in Raeford. No residents were seriously injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The fire started at about 2 p.m. Wednesday and was contained to one resident’s room. However, 11 residents were transported to a local hospital due to smoke inhalation and other fire-related ailments. All were treated and released.
The nursing home has had to place 50 residents in other facilities due to damage caused by the fire.
